I have an Acer Aspire E380 with 1.8GB RAM and 250GB (at least) of FREE open space on my hard drive, and i have a 2.3GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4400+ processor with an Nvidia GeForce 6500SE Nforce 430, but even with flight simulator on medium settings, it runs slow in the cities, even with water effects off! I should be able to run it with reflective water, dont you think? What should I do to make it run faster? I defragmentize my computer weekly, same with disc cleanup. And, I have a registry cleaner that I use every once in a while. WHAT SHOULD I DO TO MAKE IT RUN FASTER? also, when I park my airplane (any plane) at the gates the airport vehicles dont drive over to me and the gates dont move in, they’re supposed to, right? what should I do there? THX PLEASE HELP
i run graphics in game at: trilinear filtering(that doesn’t effect my fps) antialiasing OFF, run it windowed, advanced animations enabled, light boom and flare disabled, global texture at very high (doesn’t really effect my fps), aircraft at medium-high, scenery at: small detail radius, mesh complex at 37, mesh resolution at 38M, texture res at 1M, water effects none, scenery complexity high, autogen sparse, scenery shadows off, special effects medium, weather: cloud draw 110mi, low change rate, medium cloud coverage, traffic: airlines and general aviation 50%, airport vehicle density max, road vehicles 60%, boats both at 25%, show aircraft lables. It runs the fastest fps when i have fps set to ‘unlimited’. PLEASE HELP thx

From what I understand, the Cessna 182 Skylane is supposed to be a 140 knot airplane. But whenever I fly it on FS9, no matter how I set the power (according to the checklist) I never can get it to cruise past 120. I usually fly with 23 in. manifold pressure and I keep the propeller rpm at 2300.
I’m actually a private pilot in real life (learned to fly in a Cessna 172), but I have no experience in aircraft with a constant-speed prop and I thought I’d see if I couldn’t learn a thing or 2 on the simulator (which is surprisingly realistic). I’m just confused as to why I can’t get it to cruise any faster than 120 kts. Is it just set up this way?
Yes, when at high altitudes, I notice the GPS will indicate about 138 kts. true. But even at lower altitudes it still doesn’t do any better than 120 (even the GPS will only indicate about 121 kts.).
I’m not complaining or anything, I just wanted to know if I’m doing anything wrong. I’m starting to get the hang of flying an aircraft with a constant-speed prop (even though I know that this is only a simulator, you’d be surprised at how accurate it can be when it comes to navigation and procedures, especially the later simulators like FS9 or FSX).

Well, I had my first hour in a 737NG full flight simulator (and boy, did I love it).
I was given test circuits to fly. This was much harder than what I expected. First getting airbourne was ok, pitch up at 15 degrees and so on. But it was the trimming that I found difficult; I was told to rest the yoke to its normal position and if the airplane’s properly trimmed, it will fly at the pitch you give it.
But does this apply to real-life situations (obviously a simulator is next to the real thing, so I’d imagine). But I thought, and according to Flight Sim (PMDG 737NG
) the airplane is set to the trim given by charts (determined by weight, etc.), take off and above a certain level, turn on autopilot? Any real-world pilots can provide a little input on this; in particular 737NG pilots?
Thanks,
Kelvin

ok this is not a trick or nothing like that but i plan to give u those 50 points by choosing you as the best contributor in 5 questions that i will ask. u just nedd to writte a single word and ill choose u in those 5 questions as the top. anyways moving on i need someone to help me land an airplane, its weird tough to hear this but i’ve been trying for the last 5 days to land a plane using the ILS and the GPS without having success. can anyone plz send me a good video that tells me step by step i already tryed youtube but those videos are not fully explained so i need sum1 to send me a video, YOU could also send me a good guide or website that tells me how to do it. BUT EVEN BETTER IF U CAN SHARE AN AIRcraft with me in flight simulator X it will be even better just send me the time you will be able to help it can be any day exept weekends at any time, the thing is that this is part of a job that i have to do in school and i have to learn how to land the plane using the ILS. syst
by the way i want to land a 747-400 cause this is the aircraft we study in class

A plane is supposed to fly faster when its higher right? the air is thinner so less drag and less energy needed to thrust forward… but on my flight simulator X when i accent to 35 thousand feet, my plane does not go fast. With full throttle it only goes 280knots… but the airplane is supposed to go at least 450knots. I dont know if my simulator has some bug or im doing sth wrong.. (which im sure im not)
My fsx is updated to service pack 2 so yah..
Yes but the plane im flying is airbus 340-500… it should go 0.83mach which is about 480knots… and at the flight lvl of 36 thousand feet. i tried this but it wont go.

When I play Flight Simulator X I dont really know how to trim. In the First Lesson it says to hit end 3x does that automatically trim the plane to the airspeed you are at at the point you hit END 3x? Also when you trim the airplane in FSX does it mean it will fly straight and level? Please help!! Thanks
